This November marks the start of our year long Community Capacity Building Programme. 4 events over 4 days, Stranraer, Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Lockerbie, when we’ll be shutting shop and going on the road to meet you, help you develop capacity in your communities (geographic, interest, online etc), and network. Links to detail pages are below.

These are things you’ve told us you’d like us to do, and we’re going to ask you how we should develop this programme, culminating each year in Volunteers’ Week with a new, more inclusive format.

You’ve told us you’re concerned about: sustainability – funding,  recruiting volunteers for Boards and delivery; community asset transfer – how it works, what to watch out for; networking – how to find out what other groups are doing and share best practice; co-designing and co-production – how you can work with others to share the burdens and deliver services to more beneficiaries, especially the hard to reach.

The events in Trustees’ Week 2017 aren’t meant to be a “fix”.  They’re designed to get you thinking about what you want to do and to tell us how we can help you develop capacity in these increasingly challenging times.

We’ve managed to secure funding from Awards For All, a Big Lottery Scotland programme, but we’re working with the Third, Public and Private Sectors to find new ways to fund this work so we can keep supporting you with practical help in years to come.

Please do check out what we’re offering week commencing 13th November, book your self on to what interests you (do consider booking more than one workshop and attend the network and feedback sessions, they’re really important and we hope valuable to you).

Your organisation may have employed staff or volunteers who you think would benefit from this, and they will be very welcome. Please also share this among your networks so we can reach as many as possible.
